Job Description:  We are looking for a motivated employee with a background in purchasing and logistics to join a small specialized team in a rapidly growing business environment. This position will appeal to someone who is equally comfortable behind a desk, on the factory floor and on the phone with suppliers, shipping companies etc. We require someone who is willing to learn and grow in the role and take on responsibilities in different disciplines outside the primary envelope of purchasing and logistics.

The primary focus of the position will be in purchasing and logistics – starting with talking to suppliers, working with the system to place purchase orders, follow up with suppliers, scheduling pick up, packaging the final product and organizing international shipping and delivery, etc. The role will also involve some degree of inspection and quality management of the incoming products. This is a perfect environment for a smart motivated candidate with experience in purchasing and/ or logistics, preferably with some past experience working in engineering or manufacturing

 

About Tower Solutions:

Tower Solutions is a Canadian manufacturer of Emergency Restoration Towers for high voltage transmission lines, established in 2002. We have recently moved part of our production and assembly from a facility in Quebec to the Township of Ramara, Ontario, and are creating a new position at the plant in Ramara.

 

Qualifications: Required skills:

1)    Minimum education – college degree.

2)    Past experience (3+ years) in purchasing and logistics

3)    Must be physically willing and able to lend a hand on the shop floor when required

4)    Must be computer proficient and able to work with the purchasing system.

5)    Familiarity with MS Office Suite is a must.

6)    Fluency in English is a must – working knowledge of French and Spanish will be an asset.

Optional skills:

1)    Familiarity with ISO quality assurance standards and ITP sampling is an advantage

2)    Experience with manufacturing processes will be an advantage

Experience working with engineering CAD software and reading engineering drawings will be an advantage. Candidates without this experience must be willing to learn to read engineering
