TITLE: Quality Assurance Technician


Reporting to the Quality Manager, the a Quality Assurance Technician purpose of the positions is being responsible for verifying dimensions of machined tools and parts using precision measuring instruments.

The position is on our Weekend Night shift.  Weekend Afternoon Shift runs from Friday-Sunday 6:00pm-6:00am. 



  • Completion of Inspection records
  • Report Non Conforming conditions
  • Product Inspection documentation
  • Product Identification
  • Maintain cleanliness & organization of work area
  • Verification of Inspection Equipment
  • Initiate Process Capability studies
  • Perform document archival as required
  • Perform Dock Audits & Data entry as required
  • Initiate and completion of First Off Approval
  • Maintain Rejection & scrap logs
  • Assist in PPAP preparation
  • Assist in MSA Studies as required
  • Assist in Disposition of Non Conforming material
  • Perform In Process & Receiving Inspection
  • Maintain Gauge Calibration System
  • Maintain / Modify Manufacturing drawings





The incumbent must have knowledge in the following areas:

  • manufacturing environment
  • hand held measuring devices/ Gauges
  • Lab Measuring equipment (CMM, 2D, Oasis, Optical where applicable)
  • competent with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and AutoCAD Light
  • ability to interpret supplied drawing to complete inspection record
  • familiar with a Document Control System to be able to retrieve required documents
  • understanding department/company organizational operations
  • All Lab Measuring equipment
  • record retention policies
  • First Off Inspection process
  • Final Inspection and related Equipment
  • Blue Print reading & Customer specifications
  • automated Processes & Inspection
  • production SPC data for Process Improvement
  • basic PPAP & MSA as outlined in AIAG manuals
  • Receiving Inspection & Test
  • Customer Packaging and Documentation requirements
  • Plant Inspection Process

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent

Completed courses in specific trade schools related to this job
