About the Role

Overall Independence is seeking a dependable, compassionate driver to provide safe, comfortable transportation for our clients. We offer wheelchair-accessible transportation and value team members who care about helping others maintain their independence.

This role suits someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in safe driving, and treats every passenger with patience, dignity, and respect.

Responsibilities

• Transport clients safely and punctually to and from their scheduled destinations in company-provided vehicles.
• Provide courteous assistance when clients enter and exit the vehicle.
• Operate accessibility equipment and secure wheelchairs and mobility devices according to training and company procedures.
• Communicate clearly with clients, caregivers, and the scheduling team.
• Follow assigned schedules and promptly report delays or changes.
• Complete routine vehicle safety checks and maintain a clean, welcoming vehicle.
• Report vehicle concerns, incidents, and safety issues promptly.
• Complete trip notes and protect clients’ privacy.

Qualifications

• Valid, full Ontario G driver’s licence with a minimum of five years of clean driving history.
• Vulnerable Sector Police Check
• A strong desire to care for and support others.
• Dependable, punctual, and committed to passenger safety.
• A friendly, patient manner and strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and contribute to a team.
• Willingness to learn accessible transportation procedures and grow with the company.
• Ability to perform the essential duties (lifting, pushing, pulling) of the position.

Previous experience in passenger transportation, accessible transportation, caregiving, or customer service is an asset but not necessary.
