Harrowsmith Local – Community Ambassador (Location Securing)

Location: Field-based / Remote within Barrie to King Township including, Aurora, Newmarket,
Bradford, Innisfil, Barrie, and surrounding communities

Type: Contract / Part-time (project-based, per issue cycle)
Compensation: $50 per approved business location secured

with nearly 50 years of history celebrating making, growing, sustaining, and sharing.
Harrowsmith Local extends this legacy through a curated, hyper-local publication
distributed exclusively through values-aligned businesses and community spaces.

Role Overview
Community Ambassadors are responsible for identifying and securing approved business
locations to carry free copies of Harrowsmith Local. This role focuses on relationship building and placement approval, not delivery, restocking, or advertising sales.

Key Responsibilities
• Identify and approach values-aligned businesses and community spaces
• Present Harrowsmith Local using approved pitch language
• Secure agreement for placement of free copies
• Assess location suitability (visibility, foot traffic, brand alignment)
• Log and submit secured locations for internal approval

What This Role Is Not
• Not delivery or distribution
• Not restocking or merchandising
• Not advertising or sales
• Not mass canvassing or territory saturation

Compensation Structure
Ambassadors are paid a flat fee of $50 per approved, confirmed business location secured.
This is a one-time fee per location and is not tied to ongoing service or restocking.

Time Commitment
This is a flexible, self-directed role. Most ambassadors complete their location-securing
cycle within 2–4 weeks per issue, depending on region and existing relationships.
