Our client, a respected manufacturer in the textile and materials industry, is seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Needle Loom Operator to join their growing production team. Position: Needle Loom Operator
Location: Barrie, ON
Employment Type: Full-time
Pay: $21/hour + night shift premium
Schedule: Rotating shifts – 3 weeks on days / 3 weeks on nights
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role
As a Needle Loom Operator, you’ll be responsible for operating specialized needle loom machinery used to produce textile-based products. This role involves preparing materials, monitoring machine performance, troubleshooting minor issues, and ensuring high-quality output. You’ll be an essential part of the production process and work closely with plant leaders and team members.

What You’ll Do
  • Transport raw materials throughout the plant using forklifts and powered lifting equipment
  • Load fiber materials into feed systems and prepare machines for production
  • Set up needle loom lines and adjust machine settings based on specifications
  • Monitor machine operation, inspect products, and ensure they meet quality standards
  • Troubleshoot equipment stoppages and report mechanical or safety issues to supervisors
  • Complete routine cleaning and basic maintenance, including removing fiber buildup and replacing simple components
  • Move finished goods to designated storage areas using forklifts or pallet-handling equipment
  • Accurately complete production and quality documentation
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
  • Adhere to all company policies, SOPs, and safety protocols

What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in manufacturing or machine operation
Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail when monitoring machines and inspecting product quality
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to identify minor equipment issues
  • Reliable, safety‑focused, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks
  • Comfortable working in warm environments, cooler drafts, and dusty conditions
Assets
  • Valid Forklift certification

Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, and repetitive motion
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs independently; heavier loads require assistance
  • Exposure to noise, dust, heat, or cold depending on season
