Job Description

Barrie Transit team is seeking full-time Mechanics (310T) to perform preventative maintenance, diagnostic, service and repair on all revenue generating vehicles

Wage: $35.41/hr. (310T licensed) or $38.20/hr. (310T + 310S licensed).  Additional increases scheduled for July 2023, Jan 2024, July 2024 and Jan 2025 per CBA.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

• Ensures all vehicles are maintained in a safe operating condition
• Performs routine preventative maintenance & diagnoses potential vehicle malfunctions
• Inspects all components of the vehicle and repair any defects found
• Installs and repairs accessories as required
• Responds to situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns

Qualifications:

• A valid Province of Ontario Truck and Coach Technician Certificate (310T)
• A valid \”G\” Ontario Driver\’s License, preferably \”B\” or \”C\” with \”Z\” (Airbrakes) endorsement
• Clean driving record & experience in preventative maintenance practices
• Experience maintaining and repairing Air Conditioning systems preferred
• Open to work various schedules including days, evenings, weekends and holidays
• Able to pass a Criminal Background Check
