We are currently looking for CASUAL SUPPLY Educators, Registered Early Childhood Educator and Teacher Assistant, to join our team in Barrie:
- Salary for Teacher Assistant: $22.10/hour plus Provincial Wage Enhancement ($2.00/hour)
- Salary for RECE: $27.35 plus applicable fundings (up to $4.00/hour)
- Employment Type: Casual/Supply/Substitute
** This is a casual, position with variable hours, including opportunities for morning, split, and full-day shifts on an as-needed basis **
Responsibilities and Duties
- To assist with planning and implementing an age appropriate program indoors and outdoors meeting the requirements of “How Does Learning Happen?” and the 4 foundations
- To create a professional and positive image for the Agency on a daily basis
- To have a working knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act and be in compliance with the Policies and Procedures of the Agency
- To work as a member of a team which includes other staff, parents, community and the Agency
- To share in the care and housekeeping tasks of the Centre
- To grow and improve in the knowledge and skills required for the job
- To create an inclusive environment where each child and family is valued
Skills and Qualifications
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education (if applicable)
- Registered and in good standing with the College of ECEs (if applicable)
- Experience working with children JK to 12 years of age
- Recent Vulnerable Sector Check
- A valid Standard First Aid/CPR Certificate
- Up to date immunizations
- Familiar with “How Does Learning Happen?” would be an asset
- Strong programming and communications skills
- Strong knowledge of child development
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable interacting with and supporting families and community members
- Ability to actively participate in the outdoor program in inclement weather
- Physically able to lift and/or assist with the moving of a child, the moving of supplies or equipment
