Prepress Operator

We are in immediate need of a Prepress Operator

Northern Label Group is a high quality manufacturer of pressure sensitive labels in the Prime label and flexible packaging market.

Job Summary

A Prepress Operator is responsible for setting up, operating and maintaining both Digital and Flexographic presses to produce printed materials. They must understand and utilize standard practices, materials, techniques and processes used in a pressroom.  They will be mechanically minded, self-directed, self-motivated and have an excellent eye for detail.

Responsibilities

■ Pre-flight, troubleshoot and prepare files for output and finish processing, including colour correction, trapping and other unique job specifications.

■ Communicate and collaborate internally to execute job orders, art and file preparation, proof productions, plate/digital setup development.

■ Check finished plates for accuracy including visual inspection, magnifying loop inspection, dot structure, min dots and dot fall off.

■ Adhere to all procedure and performance standards required for all functions required from digital file to finished plate/digital press set up.

Education, Experience & Requirements

■ Have experience with press operations. Digital and flexo experience an asset.

■ Experience working with Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat)

■ Hold a High School Diploma

■ Possess strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn new processes

■ Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively, take direction and follow company procedures

■ Have excellent time management skills with a personal accountability mindset using a strong sense of “get the job done” attitude

Salary $50,000.00 / year
