Senior Mechanical Industrial Designer

A.E.G. Industrial Designs is a custom conveyor solutions company. We are dedicated to providing professional consulting, design/engineering, and project management services to the manufacturing industry. Our company is growing, and we are currently seeking a motivated candidate to join our design team. Your expertise in Solidworks along with your mechanical and industrial design skills will be crucial in creating functional and aesthetically pleasing designs.

Responsibilities:

• Design and prepare detailed 3D CAD, detailed mechanical working plans, charts, and scale drawings from observation, measurements, sketches, and specifications.
• Work closely with vendors/suppliers to select cost-effective materials and construction techniques.
• Coordinate directly with customers for design ideas.
• Organize and maintain a design and digital file database for each project.
• Ensure proper documentation of all work, products, and relevant activities.
• Create fabrication drawings for use by our suppliers & our shop.
• Create “as built” drawings of designs after fabrication.
• Be self-motivated and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Light assembly of equipment in the shop.
• Site visits to customers (must be able to envision a solution promptly & take the initiative to get the job on hand completed).
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an Engineering Technology or Industrial Design post-secondary program, and 5+ years of Mechanical Design experience.
• Proficiency in Solidworks is a must.
• AutoCAD experience is a must.
• Knowledge of workplace safety.
• Ability to prioritize assigned work projects.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, and specifications.
• Fluent in English with great written, and verbal communication.
• Able to work alone and as part of a team
• Knowledge of conveyor systems would be an asset.
• 3-5 Years Experience in related field is an asset

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in industrial and mechanical design, along with proficient Solidworks and CAD software knowledge. You should also possess excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail. Please provide a strong portfolio showcasing your design work. A valid Ontario driver’s license and reliable transportation is required. Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada
