Site Supervisor

JOB PURPOSE
As the Site Supervisor, you are responsible for monitoring the progress of construction projects, supervising construction workers and subcontractors and ensuring compliance with construction safety regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervising, training and coordinating all site-specific construction activities and personnel
- Creating, maintaining, and executing a project plan and schedule and ensuring compliance with the project budget
- Planning and coordinating trades to meet construction milestones and schedule
- Assessing and inspecting trade performance ensuring project materials and workmanship meets the project quality standards and design requirements
- Ensuring job sites are always clean, organized, and safe
- Identifying, investigating, correcting and documenting potential construction and safety problems
- Resolving work problems and recommending measures to improve productivity and product quality
- Ensuring the efficient use of labour, machines and materials used by the team
- Monitoring job progress and providing regular progress updates to management
- Working with construction tools, equipment and machinery as required
- Performing other position related duties as required
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Must have 10+ years of proven work experience in the construction industry
- Previous experience working as a site supervisor is preferred
- Completion of a post-secondary education construction training program is considered an asset
- Sound knowledge of Ontario Building Codes and construction safety regulations
- In-depth knowledge of the construction industry operations specifically construction specifications, building materials, methods and procedures
- Working knowledge of construction tools and equipment and the ability to interpret blueprints and technical documents
- Knowledge of the trades; landscaping, masonry, electrical, welding, carpentry, plumbing etc.
- Considered an asset to carry certifications such as; Red Seal, Working at Heights, WHMIS & CPR.
- Outstanding leadership skills with a diverse workforce along with excellent organizational and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills associated with project management, delegation, attention to detail and managing a team
- Ability to nurture effective professional relationships with staff and clients
- Strong motivation, integrity, and positive attitude
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Participating in activities and communicating with numerous workers, subcontractors and others on the job sites
- Owning and wearing safety gear, such as hardhats, safety boots and safety glasses
- May be exposed to noise levels that are distracting and uncomfortable, hazardous equipment and contaminants
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Performing site supervisor responsibilities throughout all four seasons
- Valid G class drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle is required to travel to job sites
COMPENSATION & HOURS
- Permanent Full-Time
- 42.5 hours a week (8am-5pm)
- Monday to Friday (minimal weekends required)
- $27.50/hour during the probationary period with opportunities to scale after the probationary period to $30.00/hour
