Machine Operator

Objectives of this role

  • Operate complex machinery safely, accurately, and efficiently
  • Meet the production fulfillment needs of our customers
  • Maintain high standards of company procedures and codes of conduct
  • Uphold a manufacturing process that is safe, efficient, and sanitary
  • Responsibilities
  • Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle
  • Verify functionality of safety features prior to machine operation
  • Follow production instructions of written BOMs for Factory orders
  • Set up and perform minor calibrations of machinery, as needed
  • Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
  • Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
  • Operate machinery in a consistently safe manner
  • Perform inspections of machinery to ensure efficient operation and production
  • Maintain high quality of machine-produced outputs
  • Required skills and qualifications
  • Proven experience as a machine operator.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read, write, and understand basic instructions.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using all units of measure, including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
  • Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.)
  • Understanding of production procedures
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations
  • Analytical skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Teamwork and communication skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus
  • Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
  • Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
  • Maintain activity logs
