The Position: This posting is for a full-time General Machinist. The hours of this position Monday – Thursday 4:00pm – 2:30am.

Responsibilities of this position include:

• Read and interpret complete engineer’s drawings, charts and blueprints
• Cut, shape and finish metal to make precision matching parts and components
• Set up and operate conventional and numerically controlled metal-cutting machines and equipment
• Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance
• Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments
• Check and complete program and dimensions
• Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, temperature and identify issues
• Complete inspection records and reports along with any minor repairs as needed
• Coordinate directly with engineers to understand project requirements, verify design details, and recommend modifications as needed according to company standards
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Comfortable with using universal grinders, tool grinders, surface grinders, milling machines and drill presses
• Ability to use precision tools to take measurements, (ie. Calipers and micrometres, etc.)
• Ability to lift heavy materials
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
• Knowledge of choosing proper parameter of machines and materials
