Location: On-site Outdoor Yard
Hours: 30–35 hours per week
Schedule:

• Tuesday–Saturday (1/2 day Saturday)
• Sundays & statutory holidays off

Season: April 30 to the Saturday before Labour Day
Environment: Outdoor yard, heavy equipment, small team

Position Summary

This is a great opportunity for a student or early-career worker who enjoys hands-on, physical work and wants to learn skills that can turn into a long-term career. As a Yard Hand / Junior Loader Operator, you’ll support daily yard operations and receive on-the-job training, including learning to operate a CAT 906 small loader under the direction of the Yard Manager.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Take direction from the Yard Manager and Lead Yard Staff
• Pick, label, wrap, and stage customer orders
• Greet customers in the yard before they exit their vehicle
• Lift and move stone products (up to 50 lbs, repeated lifts)
• Assist with loading and organizing materials
• Keep the yard clean, organized, and safe
• Lawn care, garbage management, and general yard upkeep
• Help with inventory checks and material counts
• Hang signs, paint sheds, and assist with property maintenance
• Handle heavy and delicate stone products with care
• Perform other tasks as assigned

Training & Growth

• On-the-job training provided
• Learn to safely operate a CAT 906 small loader
• Gain experience working around heavy equipment
• Develop practical skills used in construction, landscaping, and materials handling
• Opportunity to continue with the company beyond the season for the right candidate

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Outdoor work in all weather (heat, rain, dust, cold)
• Repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs
• Physically active role (standing, walking, lifting throughout the day)
• Heavy equipment yard environment – Loud and dusty

Safety

• Safety shoes required
• High-visibility safety wear provided
• Must follow all OHSA safety requirements
• Safety certifications (WHMIS, Working at Heights, etc.) are an asset but not required
